Frequently asked questions

Is EasyRing free?

Yes. Big-button calling, up to 4 pinned contacts, and 1 emergency number are free forever. EasyRing Pro is an optional one-time purchase — no subscription — that unlocks unlimited pinned contacts, unlimited emergency numbers, Live Voice Captions, and message read-aloud.

Does EasyRing need an internet connection?

No. Calling uses your carrier just like the built-in Phone app, and Live Voice Captions run fully on-device. A connection is only needed once, to complete the App Store purchase of Pro.

How do I set this up for a parent or grandparent?

Open Family Setup Mode from the welcome screen (or later from Settings). It walks you through pinning contacts, choosing emergency numbers, and setting a comfortable font/button size and language — all in one guided flow.

How do I add or change the SOS emergency number?

Open a contact, tap the category picker, and choose "Set as emergency number." On the free tier you can set one; EasyRing Pro allows multiple, each with its own label like "Son" or "Doctor."

The app can't see my contacts — what should I do?

Go to iOS Settings → EasyRing → Contacts and make sure access is set to allowed. EasyRing only reads your existing Contacts app — it never creates a separate list.

How does Live Voice Captions work, and is it private?

During a call, EasyRing can show large on-screen captions of what the other person is saying, using Apple's on-device Speech framework. Audio is transcribed locally and is never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere. It requires the Microphone and Speech Recognition permissions and is part of EasyRing Pro.

Can I make the text and buttons even bigger?

Yes. Open Settings → Font & Button Scale and use the slider — it goes beyond the system's normal maximum text size.

I bought EasyRing Pro but it isn't unlocked on this device.

Open Settings → Restore Purchases in the app while signed in with the same Apple ID used for the purchase. If it still doesn't unlock, email us with your purchase receipt.

Does EasyRing work on iPad?

Not yet — EasyRing 1.0 is designed and optimized for iPhone in portrait orientation only.

How do I report a bug or suggest a new feature?

Please email us using the contact info below — the more detail you provide (device model, iOS version, steps to reproduce), the faster we can help.
